Daniel and I got married on July 7 at his Aunt Ruth's house in Colorado Springs. It was a beautiful day, despite the weathers best efforts.
It hailed (!!) 15 minutes before our outside, backyard wedding was supposed to begin. From the basement getting ready I could see the hail through the small window. No one asked my opinion, but decided to wait out the storm and try to still have the ceremony outside.
Meanwhile I was frantically trying to get ready. It took WAY longer to get ready than I had anticipated. We all had a wonderful, peaceful morning getting panera for breakfast, a look at the farmers market, an inspirational lunch with family, and a relaxing set up. The panic set in when we were getting the flowers ready. It took much longer than expected and I kept getting pulled away by people arriving to help (funny how sometimes help is more of a distraction than a help). When I finally jumped in the shower (thank you lovely bridesmaids for taking care of the roses while I ran off to hide) I was already a little flustered and about 15 minutes behind schedule.
Finally I was ready and we were able to take several great pictures!
Here are a couple of my favorites from before the ceremony:

The ceremony was beautiful. The ground was wet but no one noticed. I remember the look on Daniel's face as he saw me walking down the steps with Dad and the single tear that fell down his cheek. I loved the hug that my dad gave to Daniel when he "gave me away". Tim McCarthy performed our ceremony. Both Daniel and I felt extremely blessed to have him as a part of our special day and to hear the words he said.

One of the most precious moments of the ceremony was the personal messages that Daniel and I read to each other. Daniel's words were so precious to me! I didn't make it through mine without tears (no big surprise). Then we said our vows and exchanged rings. When we kissed, Daniel dipped me and everyone was so happy for us! It was such a wonderful ceremony!
Next up: After ceremony pictures and reception!
